Buffalo VAMC - Ward 3B
The Buffalo Veteran Affairs Medical Center renovated its Women’s Primary Care to improve patient confidentiality and privacy during check-in, while providing a more efficient office space for the staff to work.
The renovation was focused on increasing the reception’s area, from one receptionist to two, while creating a visual and auditory separation between patients checking in and the waiting room. Also, there was a need to replace one large doctor’s office and a small office for two pact staff members to share with an office for five workstations.
Along with the new pact staff office were staff amenities providing easy access to printers, a secure medication dispensing unit, coat rack and immediate adjacency to receptionists.
