Five Star Equipment is a dealer of John Deere construction and forestry heavy equipment and their accessories. They have 8 locations throughout New York and Pennsylvania to serve their customers. The existing facility, replaced by this building, did not meet the demands of the growing business. The request was to provide a 24,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art replacement facility for the sales, service and parts supply of the area.
The building is a pre engineered structure composed of a 12,000 sq.ft. service area, 4,000 sq.ft. parts warehouse and 8,000 sq.ft. front end. The service area has 8 working bays, a wash bay, specialty tool storage, two ten ton overhead cranes, and a clean room for precise assembly and repair of components. The parts warehouse has a recessed dock for tractor trailer deliveries, at grade dock for small package delivery and customer pickup, hydraulic hose assembly station, rack storage and high density vidmar cabinet storage. The front end is comprised of an 1,800 sq.ft. lobby/showroom, sales offices, managers offices, 1,000 sq.ft. training room for employees and customers, 400 sq.ft. breakroom, 300 sq.ft. conference room, restrooms and support spaces.
The building is heated throughout by in-slab radiant tubing with two waste oil boilers that take advantage of the 1,000+ gallons of oil removed from equipment throughout the year. The lighting throughout is LED to minimize the power consumption, along with bright finishes throughout to maximize the fixtures efficiency.
